The Heritage Foundation works in cooperation with the Town of Taylor to operate five sites: the Taylor Museum, Pioneer Museum, Hancock Cabin, Standifird Home, and Shumway School along with several other historic homes in Taylor that there are maps and tours to see. Each facility has a board member over it as well as several other volunteers to help. A committee of ten makes decisions at monthly meetings which are usually held on the second Wednesday of each month. Maintenance is done mainly by volunteers and Eagle Scout projects with help from the town on some things.
The Taylor Museum is open Monday through Friday during the summer with a shortened schedule in the winter. All museums are available by appointment. On Memorial Day, Independence Day, and Labor Day all museums are open with special tours and beans, corn bread, wagon rides, and entertainment for visitors.
The Heritage Foundation also sponsors school tours and, with the help of several volunteers, takes presentations to the schools.
